Survivors of Disaster for Peace is a collective of individuals who have endured the life-altering impact of disaster—whether it be wildfires, floods, hurricanes, or other crises. We come together with a unique perspective on loss, resilience, and the need for recovery. We know what it feels like to rebuild from devastation, and we extend our empathy and solidarity to those enduring the horrors of conflict in Gaza.
As survivors, we understand that peace is not just the absence of violence—it is the foundation for healing and rebuilding lives. Our coalition stands united to demand a cease-fire in Gaza and now Lebanon, calling for peace and justice for all those impacted by the violence. Through our shared experiences, we amplify the call for a world where safety and security are guaranteed for all people, no matter where they live.
We are survivors of disaster. We have endured wildfires, hurricanes, floods, and other crises that have torn through our lives, taking loved ones, homes, and communities. The pain of loss and the long road to rebuilding is something we know all too well.
Today, we stand together to call for an immediate end to the violence in Gaza. The people of Gaza have suffered for too long under siege and bombardment, and their pain is not unlike ours. As survivors who understand the destruction that disaster brings, we cannot turn away from the destruction that is being inflicted on Gaza today.
We call for a cease-fire. We call for peace. We call for the protection of civilians, for unrestricted access to humanitarian aid, and for justice for the Palestinian people. We believe that peace is possible, but it requires the courage to stop the violence and rebuild a future where all people can live in safety and dignity.
We, the undersigned, lend our voices to this urgent call for peace. Together, as survivors of disaster, we demand a cease-fire in Gaza, an end to the blockade, and the beginning of true peace negotiations. We ask our leaders to listen, act, and take responsibility for bringing an end to this tragedy.
